Hope for Tomorrow in Guatemala City

Today we took a day off from Spanish class and went to Guatemala City to visit the Hope for Tomorrow Children’s Home. This home was founded by Brenda Riddle and Jennifer Grisham-Brown of Lexington, Kentucky. Brenda goes to church with us at The Church of the Good Shepherd.

We were thrilled to spend a day at this remarkable place. Housing 15 kids, Hope for Tomorrow provides a real home for children that have seen a difficult time in their short lives. We spent the better part of the day visiting the kids, having lunch, helping with homework, providing a simple art project, and visiting the nearby park. The joy and appreciation shown by the children there was overwhelming. This is our second visit to the home and we hope that we will be able to return again before leaving Guatemala. This is a special place. The staff do a great job, the facility is safe and clean, and the children are absolutely precious. What a great experience for you and your family! On another note, is someone watching your Cat, Randon while you are away? I see her out all the time. She was meowing in my driveway and as much as I do not pet cats, I had to pet her. She seemed lonely and sad. Let me know what I can do to help her.
