As we continue north in Queensland towards Cairns, we stopped and spent two day and s a night on Fraser Island. For Lee’s account of our visit go to: http://hotstuffbylee.wordpress.com/2012/11/25/fraser-island-queensland-australia/ This UNESSCO World Heritage sight is the world’s largest sand island. It features a tropical rainforest, freshwater lakes and creeks, wild dingos, sand dunes, a shipwreck and a 75 mile long beach. There are no roads on Fraser and travel is only by 4 wheel drive. We toured the island in a giant 4 wheel drive bus that would have been at home in a Mad Max movie. Our bumpy ride was better than a roller coaster and traveling down the beach at 90 kph would make anyone who has cruised the beach in Daytona green with envy.
